Three steps

  1. Call us, or answer our call

We confirm three details your plan gave us — usually your name, date of birth, and address — so we know we're speaking with the right person. We will never ask for your Social Security number or bank details.

  2. Choose a day

Pick a day that suits you. Scheduling is flexible, Monday through Friday. We confirm the appointment with you before the visit.

  3. Get screened at home

A trained technician performs the exam in about 10 to 15 minutes. Results go to your plan and your doctor.

What each exam involves

Diabetic eye exam

  • A handheld camera photographs the back of each eye
  • Nothing touches your eye
  • A board-certified physician reviews the pictures

About 10–15 minutes

Bone density test

  • A small device measures bone strength at your wrist or finger
  • You stay seated and fully clothed
  • The technician may leave a pamphlet on preventing falls

About 10–15 minutes

Blood pressure check

  • A standard arm cuff reading, taken where you're relaxed
  • Often done during the same visit as another screening
  • The reading is shared with your doctor

A few minutes

How to confirm the call or letter is real

It's smart to ask. Here's how to check, and what a real VuePoint contact looks like.

  • Call your health plan at the number on your insurance card and ask them to confirm that VuePoint Diagnostics is a screening vendor for your plan.
  • Call us directly at (833) 440-0960. That number appears on our letters and on this website.
  • We verify, we don't collect. We ask you to confirm three details your plan already gave us. We never ask for a Social Security number, Medicare number, bank account, or credit card.
  • Nothing is sold. The exam is fully covered by your plan. There is no bill, no upsell, and no follow-up product.
  • Technicians carry ID. Ask to see the VuePoint badge before you open the door.

Common questions

Is there any charge for the exam?

No. Your health plan partnered with VuePoint to provide the exam in your home at no cost to you.

How do I schedule?

A VuePoint representative will call you, or you can call us at (833) 440-0960. Schedulers are available Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM Central.

What happens during a diabetic eye exam?

The technician uses a handheld camera to take pictures of the back of each eye. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes. The images are reviewed by a board-certified physician, and results go to your health plan and your doctor.

What happens during a bone density test?

The technician uses a small portable device to measure bone density in your wrist or finger. You stay seated and clothed. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

Why am I asked for my date of birth and other details?

Before we can discuss anything health-related, we confirm three pieces of information that your health plan gave us. This protects your privacy and makes sure we're speaking to the right person.

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. Your plan shared only the information needed to arrange the exam. VuePoint's systems are HITRUST certified, and we follow the privacy practices described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

When will I get results?

Your health plan and your primary care doctor receive the results. Check with your doctor for your results and any follow-up.

What if I have a portable X-ray or ultrasound ordered by my doctor?

That's our other service line. Your doctor or facility schedules it; a technologist comes to you, and your provider usually has results within 2 to 4 hours. Questions about those exams: (866) 466-2721.

Received a call or letter about a health screening?

Your health plan arranged this at no cost to you. Call to pick a day that works — Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM Central.
